THE ROLE 

 

You are responsible for safety on board on our vessels. 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

You will have to : 

  • Comply with IMS and all relevant international rules and regulations.
  • Ensure all your duties in accordance with quality, health, safety, environmental and ethics policies.
  • Propose a continuous performance improvement plan which will be reported and reviewed on a periodical basis.
  • Assist in SSE responsibilities for his assigned vessels.
  • Perform on duty tasks when assigned.

 

You will ensure :

  • The implementation of the Integrated Management System and the Ship Security Plan.
  • The communication between ashore departments and the vessels.
  • The assigned vessels are properly manned, maintained, equipped and in a seaworthy condition.

 

You will be responsible for :

  • SSE audit or inquiry onboard assigned and designated vessel.
  • The monitoring of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Investigation when accident occurs onboard. 
  • Performing trainings of shore department and ship staf.
  • The participation in the regulations monitoring.
  • Be the contact point of the flag administrations and support Fleet department with the classification societies (RO).
  • The participation in the Emergency Response Team when concerned.
     

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 

 

  • You have a strong SSE culture and ideally have already enforce a SSE policy on board.
  • You have experience in accident investigation on board.
  • You are fluent in English both written and spoken.
  •  You have a previous experience as officer (officer licenses preferred) or in shipping industry.
  • You are a good communicator and have presentation skills.
  • You are able to work both independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Your physical condition allows you to perform audit onboard.
  • You have no restriction to travel abroad.
