About the Role:
Reporting to: Agency & Intermodal Operations Manager (Oceania)
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Work Location: South Wharf, Melbourne
As a Cargo Operations Management Supervisor, you are to ensure smooth cargo operations by overseeing loading, discharge, and transshipment while adhering to industry standards, supervising and guiding cargo management activities, resolving disputes and claims, and coordinating with shared centres.
The role and responsibilities will include:
- Transshipment Coordination: Identify containers requiring transshipment, determine the best connecting service, apply for DG/OOG permissions, and update details in Lara.
- Booking Forecasts: Consolidate and send booking data for CMA/ANL and partner vessels to planners, space control, and terminals.
- Late Receival Coordination: Process late receival applications, liaise with terminals and partner lines to ensure approval.
- Manifest Preparation: Generate and verify DG, Out of Gauge, and Reefer manifests, sending them to port agents.
- Invoice & Dispute Management: Review stevedoring invoices, resolve disputes, and coordinate with shared centers, terminals, and service providers.
- Request for Information (RFI) Handling: Address and resolve RFIs and invoice approvals as required.
- Terminal Liaison & Early Receivals: Coordinate early receivals with customers and depots, and manage operational changes with customer service.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in shipping or a related industry.
- Previous experience in team management.
- Proficient in computer systems with the ability to learn quickly.
- Basic to intermediate MS Excel skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
