Business Development Manager

CHENG LIE Navigation Company (CNC Line) is a leader in intra-Asia trade. Subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, CNC Line offers personalized services and has specific expertise in the transport of containers with temperature control (refrigerated containers or Reefers).

Summary
In this role, you will be reporting to the Head of Business Development to coordinate with various department to explore new businesses, trade lane expansion feasibility and marketing database analytics.

You will be responsible for performing detailed analysis on financial P&L to provide forecast for new services and development of business plan while ensuring financial feasibility. 

Your main responsibilities are, but not limited to: 

• Collaborate with Agency and Line Management to conduct short term market impact review on latest supply and demand analysis on entire Intra A market and anticipate impact to the services
• Conduct long term market impact review through detailed analysis through orderbook and anticipate competitors’ capacity deployment
• Perform detailed analysis on competitors’ strengths, weaknesses, and slot cost estimates
• Conduct Marco Economics analysis on Intra Asia for potential opportunities and threats
• Conduct contributions analysis through services, origin, type of equipment, customer, segment, etc
• Perform gap analysis on Global Accounts and International Freight Forwarder accounts performance on services and follow up on customers’ performance
• Analyse cargo mix of the services in support of the new Line Management
• Explore potential investment opportunities on new market and domestic development via various JV or takeover
• Monthly updates on development such as deployment of new services
• Compile and coordinate presentation deck for various events

 
Minimum Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in business control, cost control and/or business development within container shipping industry
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance or Data Analytic
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Experience in financial management i.e. P&L, Balance Sheets, forecasting and budgets
