Global Cargo Flow Supervisor

Role Overview

 

We are looking for a Cargo Flow Supervisor to lead cargo flow operations across the APAC region. In this role, you will supervise a team of Cargo Flow professionals, optimise vessel utilisation, and ensure efficient execution of cargo plans across CMA CGM’s liner services.

Reporting to the Cargo Flow Senior Supervisor / Manager, you will work closely with Trade, Commercial, Operations, Vessel Planning, and Equipment teams to balance demand, maximise network performance, and manage operational challenges in a dynamic shipping environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Supervise daily cargo flow operations to optimise vessel load factors and space utilisation.
  • Analyse booking trends, cargo forecasts, and port performance to support operational decisions.
  • Manage medium-term space allocations and balance laden and empty container movements.
  • Coordinate cargo routing, vessel loading, cuts, and switches with internal teams and partners.
  • Proactively handle network disruptions (e.g. void sailings, port omissions) and implement recovery solutions.
  • Monitor costs and implement contingency plans to minimise operational impact.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Cargo Flow team members, ensuring strong operational capability and process adherence.
  • Drive process improvements and participate in cross-functional and system enhancement projects.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Diploma or higher qualification from a recognised institution (Degree in Shipping / Logistics preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the shipping or logistics industry, preferably in cargo flow, vessel planning, or operations.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and data analysis; macros or automation skills are an advantage.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and perform under pressure.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Prior experience mentoring or supervising team members is highly desirable.
