Key Account Officer, Global Accounts

 

CHENG LIE Navigation Company (CNC Line) is a leader in intra-Asia trade. Subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, CNC Line offers personalized services and has specific expertise in the transport of containers with temperature control (refrigerated containers or Reefers).

 

 

Role Overview
As a Key Account Officer, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Global BCO Accounts (GA). Your primary objective is to achieve the annual budget targets in terms of both volume and yield. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the customer experience with CNC and strategically increase the share of wallet from your assigned GA customers. This role requires a strong understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, and cross-functional collaboration to drive account growth and customer satisfaction.

We are looking for an excellent communicator with customer facing and account management experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to achieve annual targets in TEU and Yield in USD, in alignment with the CMA HO Key Account team.
  • Manage the full tender process, including negotiations with Global Account (GA) customers at various stages.
  • Act as the primary CNC point of contact for GA customers, identifying customer needs and uncovering opportunities to grow CNC’s business.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to foster long-term partnerships and trust.
  • Track and measure account performance regularly, both internally and externally, to ensure objectives are being met and customer expectations exceeded.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders (e.g., trade, operations, customer service) to deliver exceptional customer experience and increase share of wallet.
  • Communicate commercial strategies to the network and work closely with local teams to drive market share—including joint customer visits as needed.
  • Promote and sell CNC’s new products and services to existing customers to drive account growth.
  • Monitor and reduce Accounts Receivable (AR) to ensure healthy cash flow and minimize credit risks.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the shipping and logistics industry
  • Strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of shipping and logistics operations
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite i.e. Excel – vlookup and pivot, PowerPoint presentations, etc
  • Diploma or Degree in a related discipline (e.g., Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration)
