Role Overview
As a Key Account Officer, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Global BCO Accounts (GA), with the primary objective of achieving annual budget targets in terms of both volume and yield.
In this role, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the overall customer experience with CNC and strategically grow the share of wallet from assigned GA customers. You will build and maintain strong customer relationships, identify growth opportunities, and ensure the effective execution of account strategies.
The role requires a strong understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to drive account growth and customer satisfaction.
We are seeking an excellent communicator with proven customer-facing and account management experience, capable of building trusted relationships and delivering strong commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve annual targets in TEU volume and yield (USD), in alignment with the CMA HO Key Account team.
- Manage the end-to-end tender process, including negotiations with Global Account (GA) customers at various stages.
- Serve as the primary CNC point of contact for GA customers, proactively identifying customer needs and opportunities to grow CNC’s business.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster long-term partnerships and trust.
- Prepare for, coordinate, and participate in Business Reviews (e.g., MBR, QBR), including delivering presentations to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Regularly generate, track, and evaluate account performance metrics—both internally and externally—to ensure targets are met and customer expectations are exceeded.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders (e.g., Trade, Operations, Customer Service) to deliver an exceptional customer experience and increase share of wallet.
- Communicate commercial strategies across the network and work closely with local teams to drive market share, including conducting joint customer visits when required.
- Promote and sell CNC’s new products and services to existing customers to support account growth.
- Monitor and reduce Accounts Receivable (AR) to maintain healthy cash flow and minimize credit risks.
- Conduct data analysis related to customer accounts and GA portfolio performance, and generate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate filing of rates and customer space allocations within the relevant systems.
What We’re Looking For
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in the shipping, logistics, or supply chain industry, preferably in account servicing or account management.
- Good understanding of container shipping and logistics operations.
- Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and partners, including Chinese networks.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, relationship management, and customer-facing skills.
