Lines Manager, Intra Asia
CHENG LIE Navigation Company (CNC Line) is a leader in intra-Asia trade. Subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, CNC Line offers personalized services and has specific expertise in the transport of containers with temperature control (refrigerated containers or Reefers).
Summary
The successful candidate will assist both the Head of Lines and Deputy Head of Lines and be responsible for the Profit & Loss of assigned Line(s), Pricing strategy, line management and commercial activities of Intra Asia Services by maximizing volume/revenue onboard with an optimal cargo-mix. This candidate should be commercially astute and be able to identify new business opportunities and manage a team in CNC Head Office and co-ordinate with agency network in Asia to accomplish Line Management objectives.
Key Results Areas & Accountabilities
- Full line management responsibility of Profit & Loss results for assigned line(s)
- Set business/pricing strategy for the designated countries and services in accordance with Group’s strategy.
- Make strategic decisions to optimize the trade (revenues/volumes/market shares).
- Monitor and analyze agents’ performances against allocations to ensure optimal loadings
- Monitor the schedules of services to keep them closer to proforma and engage in schedule recovery measures with Operations team on a weekly basis.
- Co-ordinate with space management team on daily basis to understand vessel utilization and take prudent actions.
- Co-ordinate with Logistics team to understand and address equipment imbalance.
- Manage the selected key accounts, together with the team, including customer visits, rate negotiation, service promotion & follow up support.
- Prepare reports, market studies, competitor analysis and perform other tasks as required by Line Management.
- Periodic travel plans to specific countries in Intra Asia for performance review and guidance to local sales and customer service teams.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Business or Business Management
- Ideally with 8 or more years experience in shipping line involving in trade management
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to travel overseas to meet and maintain good relationships with local and overseas customers and agencies
- Independent and result oriented
- Strategic thinker
- Ability to focus on tasks and analyses situations, systems, and problems
- Ability to make quick decisions supported by information and data gathered
