Cargo Flow Officer (m/f/d)

For the SSL Intra North Europe product we are recruiting a Cargo Flow Officer (m/f/d) in Hamburg, temporarily at first with the possibility of prolongation.

 

Your mission:
Reporting to the Cargo Flow Supervisor, your mission will be to optimise the loading capacity and available space on board of the vessels of which you are in charge.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Regularly control the filling factor of vessels through the analysis of current bookings and forecasts
  • Ensure the sharing of forecasts and verify allocations to the local offices and available space with partners, alert in case of over or under utilization
  • Optimize vessel utilization in closed cooperation with Trade, Commercial and Operational team, other Cargo Flow and Equipment teams
  • Notify the network of schedule/ vessel changes and measures taken to increase filling factor and give instructions how to route cargo, follow up
  • Monitor stocks for transshipment and export cargo in ports within your scope
  • Produce statistics by port of call and by final destination, on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis

 

You bring aboard:

  • Postgraduate degree (+ 3 or 4 years) in International Trade, Transport or Logistics or professional education in logistics or shipping with at least 2 years of experience
  • Good communication skills in written and spoken English
  • Good command of office and IT tools, especially Excel
  • Accurate with figures
