MAIN PURPOSE

 

The Inside Sales Operations Manager will lead the CMA CGM Short Sea Lines (SSL) Inside Sales team, working in close partnership with the UK Head of Sales for the CMA CGM SSL business and wider SSLteam (e.g. Business Development Managers, Customer Care and Trade teams). 

 

In leading the Inside Sales team, you will coach and mentor the team whilst supporing them in the delivery of customer-centric daily operations, acting as an escalation point where necessary and ensuring the teams have the knowledge and tools necessary to deliver the best possible service for our customers and internal stakeholders. 

 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Manage inside sales/sales support team daily, understanding specific requirements and specialities for the customers and their cargo. 

  • Supporting the Had of UK Sales and wider management team with regular reporting on sales pipeline, quality and delivery.

  • Build internal and external relationships to support the continued growth of the business.

  • Work closely with the Business Development Managers (BDM) to ensure they are provided with leads for potential growth in business or new customers.

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage upwards to create the relationships needed to secure new business opportunities.

  • Close collaboration with UK Trade Manager for local direction setting and objective.

  • Provide effective communications to customers to ensure they are fully updated with any relevant schedule changes, news or events that are happening in the Short Sea market that involve CMA-CGM SSL.

  • Demonstrate effective management of quotations so they are completed for all UK-controlled customers within a timely manner.

  • Attend and actively contribute in customer meetings.

  • Manage department and day-to-day running of inside sales team.

  • Data monitoring of statistical data for Trade/Area and internal/external teams.

  • Analyse Market identification from CRM.

  • Perform & maintain agency sales’ segmentation.

  • Supports target setting and ensures quality of targets

  • Follow up with BDMs with reduced bookings or lost volumes of customers through the use of data analysis.

  • Support Head of Sales with Strategy, Trade, and Commercial Calls

  • Creating new sales leads or exploring new verticals not only acting on sales leads give

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

 

  • In-depth knowledge of short-sea shipping industry would be a big advantage 

  • Demonstrated experience in sales environment (experience within Short Sea and/or Logistics industries would be a particular advantage)

  • Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to grow and develop business 

  • Proven experience of leading and man.aging a team, encouraging a culture of high performance and engagement 

  • Technical skills in developing specialist supply chain networks

  • Excellent analytical skills, with demonstrable experience of working with systems to extract and interpret sales data

  • Front-line account visit experience

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels including senior leadership. 

  • Proven business development skills ie, sales and marketing planning 

  • Adaptable, flexible and solutions-driven with sound decision-making skills

  • Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines 

  • Strong presentation skills
