About the Role: 

 

Reporting to: Head of Line Commercial Desk
Employment Type: 12-month, fixed term, full-time (maternity leave cover)
Work Location: South Wharf, Melbourne

 

As a Tenders Manager, you will lead a team of 2 Tenders Officers and manage ANL’s global and local tender processes end-to-end, including supervising tender activities, ensuring accurate pricing and responses, and coordinating with stakeholders to drive performance and results. The role also focuses on analysing customer data, reporting outcomes, and implementing best practices. 

 

The role and responsibilities will include:

 

  • Manage ANL tender pricing in line with group commercial strategy through GBS and agency networks.
  • Support negotiation, preparation, and finalization of tender-related service contracts with ANL Legal Counsel.
  • Maintain the regional and global accounts database for tenders.
  • Prepare regular reports on tender submissions, progress, and outcomes for global, agency, state, and commercial managers.
  • Assist with market research and develop pricing strategies for tenders.
  • Establish KPIs, evaluate staff performance, and ensure team members have the skills and training required.
  • Maintain up-to-date position descriptions and ensure compliance with role requirements.

 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in a business-related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales and shipping activities.
  • High computer literacy, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and databases; familiarity with ANL systems.
  • Broad understanding of the shipping industry, agency operations, and statutory requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Outgoing and confident personality, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
