About the Role:

 

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Vessel Operations Officer to join our team in Port Moresby, reporting directly to the Operations Manager. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the Vessel Operations team with the day-to-day coordination of vessel activities across all required ports in Papua New Guinea.

 

The role and responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate and monitor vessel berth schedules in collaboration with shipping lines and terminal operators.
  • Track vessel movements along the Australian coast in close coordination with Inchcape agents.
  • Prepare operational reports and support analysis or studies as required by the Assistant Manager – Ships and Terminals.

 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, International Business, Supply chain/Logistics or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in shipping operations, container terminals, port operations and/or vessel husbandry (advantageous but not essential).
  • Strong computer literacy with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • A keen eye in process improvement and optimisation.
