Summary
You will be reporting to the Commercial Line Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to overall trade activities, accounts development and implementation of strategies to maximise revenue and improve profitability.
To perform well in this role, you will need to be proactive and have strong analytical and communication skills.
Main Responsibilities:
- Analyse cargo opportunities and provide timely responses to clients and agents on rate enquiries in accordance with guidelines by Trade Management
- Analyse, evaluate and research to process all pricing, bid, contract, and rate enquiries (including the maintenance of rate tariff guideline and data) for trade lane services within South East Asia, India subcontinent and Middle East Gulf to Australia.
- Negotiate Name Account requests from Key Accounts team and close deals in accordance with guidelines of Trade Management
- Keep abreast of industry trends through proactive communication with all origins
- Analyse and evaluate account performance, market intel and individual service needs and propose opportunities to Sales teams
- File and update FAK (freight of all kind – short ) and Yearly tariff rates and Customers allocation into the in-house system
- Draft new service contracts and handle contract amendments as required
- Generate reports such as contribution margin, trade reports on market capacity updates, competitors rate movement and vessel space utilisation
- Participation in projects as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in maritime, logistics, supply chain related studies or business administration
- 0 - 2 year of relevant experience in the maritime industry would be advantageous
- Knowledge in container shipping and/or global trade would be advantageous
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint
