YOUR ROLE
Are you known for your leadership skills? Are you passionate about coordinating logistics activities? If so, we have an opportunity that would allow you to oversee all activities of the warehouse floor and ensure operations are coordinated efficiently.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
- Plan the daily work schedule by reviewing existing work orders, arrival notices and instructions from customers.
- Asses priorities based on time sensitivity and available resources.
- Assign duties appropriate to warehouse staff.
- Train new staff in assigned duties, and quality management activities or delegates training responsibilities to experienced specialist.
- Assign selective supervisory tasks as needed to experienced specialists acting as leads for lower level warehouse staff
- Keep abreast of progress on problems
- Communicate with operations manager regarding progress and problems or issues on a daily basis.
- Hold regular meetings with warehouse staff to assess group’s overall status
- Provide responsible supervision and control for all department activities.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within the department and address all employee performance problems promptly and directly in accordance with personnel policies of the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Education and Experience: Minimum -High School Diploma or GED
Four years related experience. ; Minimum one year supervisory experience; proven knowledge and experience in warehouse operations; valid state issued driver’s license; Forklift Driver Certification. Ability to drive and or operate a forklift, hand truck and pallet jack.
- Preferred -Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Finance or related discipline preferred or equivalent combination of work experience and education. Three years of industry experience
- Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Capable of communicating and interacting effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds and ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, management and customers.
- PC literate. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications Ability to allocate work assignments; Proven experience in problem analysis, presentation of alternatives and implementing solutions;... Forklift Driver Certification. Ability to drive and or operate a forklift, hand truck and pallet jack;. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of US and/or international currency, weight, volume and distance measurements. Ability to model the organization’s vision and values and lead others. Ability to plan work for self and others to ensure work is completed efficiently
