YOUR ROLE
Our Air & Ocean team based in Hounslow have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Operations Manager where you will provide strategic and operational leadership, customer service and continuous improvement innovations to meet the needs of our healthcare customers requiring freight forwarding expertise.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the Branch Manager and collaborating closely with the Head of Healthcare UKI, you will develop, implement and embed the team strategy taking full ownership of the P&L and budgetary control within the Healthcare team. You will be accountable for margin growth, identifying revenue leakage, competitive pricing and cost efficiencies.
You will act as the first point of contact for our customer base, taking the lead in account development of customer portfolios identifying and delivering on new opportunities to expand the healthcare division with a focus on contract renewal, growth, and retention. Working in collaboration with business development you will tailor solutions and support in tender processes providing operational, value add insights to ensure competitiveness and commercial attractiveness.
Leading a team of air freight professionals, you will embed a culture of employee engagement, high performance, health and safety, and continuous improvement. You will delegate work providing guidance and support, conducting regular 1:1s, assessing performance, identifying training requirements and implementing plans to upskill and develop the team.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be successful in your application you will have significant freight management experience ideally within an air freight or 3PL environment. You will be a strong leader, experienced in leading and developing air freight operations. With exceptional stakeholder management and commercial skills you will be practiced in multi-client management and a proven track record of developing organic and customer growth strategies.
It goes without saying that you will be a natural communicator, problem solver, decision maker and influencer. With strong commercial skills you will have a clear focus on data accuracy, budgets and cost save initiatives.
This role requires someone who has sufficient knowledge and expertise in air freight operations and the healthcare industry particularly in goods distribution practice (GDP), temperature-controlled transportation and CAPA Investigations.
