Your Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Risk & Claim Insurance Manager to join the Italian Legal Department of our Group, a leading operator in the logistics, transportation, and freight forwarding industry.
The role reports directly to the Head of Legal Department – Italy, with a dotted line to the European Insurance Manager, and will be responsible for managing insurance claims, supporting contractual risk analysis, and ensuring legal compliance in insurance-related matters across the Group’s operations.
This position combines claims and risk management with the review of contractual documentation, particularly focusing on insurance and liability clauses.
Key Responsabilities
· Handle and coordinate insurance claims (e.g. cargo, general liability, property), liaising with brokers, insurers, loss adjusters, and internal departments.
· Review and support the negotiation of insurance-related clauses in commercial agreements (e.g. transport, logistics, and subcontracting contracts).
· Provide legal guidance on risk allocation in contracts, advising on exposures and preventive actions.
. Where required manage local Insurance policy placement along with supporting premium and data collection as part of the global renewal programme
. Provide insurance related to support to other CMA CGM Group companies within the area.
· Collaborate with the European Insurance Manager to ensure the alignment of group insurance programs and identify areas for improvement.
· Act as a key point of contact on insurance topics for internal business units and external partners.
· Stay up to date with relevant regulatory and legal developments in insurance and transport law.
Requirements
· Master’s Degree in Law (Laurea Magistrale in Giurisprudenza).
· Preferably qualified to practice law in Italy (abilitazione all’esercizio della professione forense).
· At least 5 years of experience in insurance law and claims handling, ideally in the logistics or transportation sector, or in an international law firm or corporate environment.
· Strong experience in contract review, with a focus on insurance, liability, and risk management clauses.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proficiency in Italian and English (both written and spoken) is essential.
· French language knowledge is a strong plus.
· Ability to work independently and in coordination with cross-functional and international teams.
