YOUR ROLE
To identify and develop sales strategy to deliver CL customer pipeline and win new business from new and existing customers and achieve profitable growth consistent with forecast and budgeted targets.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- To identify, qualify and initiate quality CL opportunities with new customers targeting SME and large size companies with decent size of logistics activities
- To grow logistics networking and share market intelligence with the team
- To develop long term customer relationships and work with customers on innovative and compelling supply chain solutions
- Explore untapped opportunities within sectors. Look at service offerings and potential integrated solutions for proposals
- Support the increasing growth and demand for single or multi user warehouse opportunities
- To grow the revenue and profit of CL business by securing new wins and increasing the size and quality of the targets and raise the GR per customer
- Responsible for the management and handling of the RFQ response documents coming to the company for Contract Logistics Business
- Maintain all new business approaches and outcomes in C-View
- Generate and distribute specific reports as required in alignment with the position
- Maintain close working relationships with the Solution design, Operations and Business Development Team
- Develop and maintain CAPEX procedures as per policy for RFQ and new business submissions
- Undertake regional presentations for the Contract Logistics Divisions, as and when called upon
- Undertake cross selling and up selling within existing customer base to further develop account potential through contract logistics
- Undertake sales presentations to customers and business communities to present to the company and its products and services
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma with at least 10 years of experience in logistics / supply chain related industry
- At least 10 years of experience in business development roles in the 3PL industry
- Demonstrated success in leading opportunities in a highly matrixed organization;
- Experienced managing and developing high level customer relationships in complex global and regional multi-national corporations
Experienced in selling & marketing supply chain solutions focusing on warehousing - Significant sales and marketing change management experience supported by advanced conceptual and logistics skills, high levels of numerical and verbal reasoning and be of advance intellectual ability
- Worldwide, regional and local market knowledge and commercial understanding
- Financial (P&L, Balance Sheet, Forecasting, Budgets) knowledge
- Understanding of contract logistics market
- Ability to analyze requirements and formulate strategies
- Project management / direction skills
- Experience with or ability to understand, commercial implications of solutions proposed, potential areas of risk and methods to limit liabilities;
- Demonstrated success in challenging the status quo, championing new business development initiatives, management ideas, and value added sales ideas;
- Ability to articulate issues, present “pros and cons” and provide solutions at the board level;
- Maturity and tactfulness in dealing with high-powered stakeholders i.e. external customers;
- Uncompromised integrity
- Strong sense of urgency and an unparalleled hunter mentality in developing new sales activity
- Good negotiation skills, with a grasp of the legal issues associated with contracts.
- Ability to be “customer-facing” for local and international clients and interpret their requirements, needs and planning.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently;
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
