YOUR ROLE
This position is responsible for overseeing the daily workload of CEVA’s linehaul fleet, as well as coordinating with rail and coastal shipping partners to ensure operations run with maximum efficiency, reliability and compliance.
A key focus of the role is to continuously review, audit and enhance CEVA’s transport systems and processes. You’ll play a critical part in ensuring CEVA meets all obligations under road transport legislation, including Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements and the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS).
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Specifically, you will:
- Maintain current driver training records and compliance documentation
- Recruit, train and assess FVL linehaul carriers and drivers to meet regulatory and CEVA standards.
- Monitor driver performance and address non‑conformance with operations teams.
- Optimise vehicle and route productivity to meet KPIs and minimise empty running
- Develop tailored solutions and costings for out‑of‑gauge freight
- Ensure fleet maintenance schedules and GPS requirements are met
- Manage coastal shipping partner relationships, including service levels, rates and invoicing.
- Ensure operational compliance with all policies, procedures and legislation.
- Support the National Linehaul Manager with business improvement planning and execution.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate has proven people management experience (preferably drivers), and:
- Strong understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements and relevant legislation/standards, including NHVAS
- Experience working within rail and coastal shipping operations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently across teams and stakeholders.
- Strong critical‑thinking ability with a knack for troubleshooting and driving continuous improvement.
- A collaborative working style with the ability to influence others and contribute positively to team outcomes.
In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
