YOUR ROLE

 

Based in Banksmeadow, the Air Transport Coordinator is responsible for coordinating last-mile deliveries for air freight imports, ensuring shipments are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, and within budget.

 

Working closely with airlines, ground handling agents, transport providers, drivers, and internal teams, this role manages freight collections, resolves operational issues, maintains service levels, and supports accurate cartage administration. Through proactive communication and a customer-focused approach, the Air Transport Coordinator helps drive operational performance, compliance, and exceptional service outcomes.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

 

Specifically, you will:

 

  • Manage the end-to-end coordination of air import deliveries, ensuring freight is collected, released, and delivered within service timeframes
  • Partner with airlines, ground handling agents, and transport providers to deliver efficient and seamless freight movements
  • Keep customers and internal stakeholders informed through clear, proactive communication on shipment progress and delivery outcomes
  • Create and manage transport documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with customer, operational, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate shipment information, delivery milestones, and POD records within freight management systems
  • Monitor transport-related costs and charges, supporting accurate invoicing, cost control, and financial reconciliation
  • Validate supplier invoices against agreed rates and services, escalating discrepancies for timely resolution
  • Coordinate duty, tax, and COD payment processes to support the prompt release of cargo.

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

 

Our ideal candidate brings deep experience in airfreight import operations and a strong track record of leading operational teams within freight forwarding or logistics environments. You’ll also have:

 

  • Proficiency in freight management and operational systems, including CargoWise
  • Experience in freight forwarding, air freight operations, transport coordination, or a similar logistics environment
  • Demonstrated experience working with airlines, ground handling agents (GHAs), and transport providers to coordinate the efficient movement of freight
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive shipment and delivery activities while meeting operational deadlines and service commitments
  • Strong understanding of air freight processes, transport coordination, and customer service requirements
  • Ability to prioritise competing tasks, solve problems proactively, and perform effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
  • High level of attention to detail, with strong administrative, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

 

In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
