The Business Process Excellence Professional CL will be an integral part of CEVA Servicios de Mexico's 4PL Control Tower division, based in Apodaca - Monterrey. This role is dedicated to enhancing the efficiency, transparency, and cost-effectiveness of transportation and logistics operations across North America. By leveraging advanced analytical tools, process engineering methodologies, and automation, the position supports both daily operational execution and strategic supply chain initiatives.
As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for optimising ground transportation operations covering Canada, the United States, and Mexico. This includes managing domestic shipments as well as complex cross-border logistics flows. The successful candidate will have proven experience in full truckload (FTL), less than truckload (LTL), carrier management, routing strategies, and compliance with cross-border regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth analyses of transportation and supply chain data to detect operational inefficiencies, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive improvements in service quality.
- Support, monitor, and enhance ground transportation processes ensuring seamless execution and alignment with business objectives.
- Develop, maintain, and improve reporting dashboards and automated workflows using Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform tools to increase operational visibility and informed decision making.
- Design and implement scalable automations for routine workflows, minimising manual interventions while maximising accuracy and efficiency.
- Track and interpret transportation Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as on-time pickup and delivery rates, carrier effectiveness, transit times, freight expenditure, and incident rates.
- Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues, formulating and executing corrective action plans to prevent reoccurrences and enhance overall operational stability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational productivity, standardisation of processes, enhancement of service quality, and cost reduction.
- Collaborate closely with logistics operations teams, carrier partners, customers, procurement units, and senior leadership to align on objectives, resolve challenges, and roll out process enhancements.
- Assist in carrier management including performance evaluation, routing optimisation, and expansion of shipment visibility and transportation network capabilities.
- Create and maintain comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and reporting standards aligned with regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Support the implementation, customization, and upgrading of Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and shipment visibility platforms.
- Engage in strategic projects promoting enterprise-wide automation, data integration, and business process re-engineering to strengthen the logistics footprint.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- Between 2 to 5+ years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain engineering, or operations analytics roles within North America.
- Comprehensive understanding of transportation industry practices including FTL, LTL, carrier relationships, route planning, and North American cross-border logistics.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex data analysis and modelling.
- Practical experience with SQL for data extraction, transformation, and reporting tasks.
- Hands-on experience in Python programming for automation, data processing, and operational analytics.
- Capability to develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Automate or equivalent workflow automation platforms to streamline operational processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills to identify bottlenecks and design effective solutions.
- Knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Application Programming Interface (API) integrations to manage transportation data flows and system interoperability.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex analysis in clear, actionable formats to both operational teams and senior management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within third-party logistics (3PL) or fourth-party logistics (4PL) environments, understanding multifaceted logistics operations.
- Familiarity and hands-on use of Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ERP platforms, or shipment tracking and visibility tools.
- Knowledge or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to systematically enhance process excellence.
- Experience managing carrier performance metrics and transportation procurement analytics to optimise contracts and operational outcomes.
- Insight into best practices for data visualisation and strategic KPI management to support transparent and effective reporting.
