YOUR ROLE

Are you an experienced operations leader with a strong background in logistics, transformation and continuous improvement? We’re looking for a Central Operations Manager to play a key role in driving operational excellence and sustainable business performance across our national portfolio.

You’ll provide strategic direction, operational expertise and leadership across new business implementations, acquisitions and wider business change. Working closely with senior stakeholders, site leaders and project teams, you’ll ensure operational transitions are successfully delivered into business as usual, protecting service, cost, quality and customer outcomes.

You’ll also play a key role in shaping national operational standards, strengthening colleague capability, improving system utilisation and embedding scalable best practice. Through strong leadership, effective governance and a commitment to continuous improvement, you’ll help ensure our operations are equipped to deliver consistent, high-quality performance.

This role is based at our Head Office in Ashby-de-la-Zouch with nation wide travel.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Lead operational performance, ensuring service, financial, KPI, customer and colleague objectives are achieved.
  • Identify operational challenges and performance risks, leading recovery plans and improvement activity to strengthen service delivery and contract profitability.
  • Establish and continuously improve national operating standards, promoting consistency, process compliance, effective system utilisation and best practice.
  • Identify and mitigate risks relating to service, cost, health and safety, quality, compliance and customer commitments.
  • Lead transformation and continuous improvement initiatives, challenging existing processes and supporting the adoption of new systems, tools and ways of working.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We’re looking for a commercially minded and influential operations leader with extensive experience in multi-site logistics operations, ideally within a third-party logistics environment. You’ll bring a strong understanding of warehouse operations, operational flow, end-to-end supply chains and a range of product lines, alongside proven experience in new business implementations, supporting challenging contracts and driving business process excellence and continuous improvement.

You’ll have a track record of developing and delivering operational strategies, leading transformational and cultural change, and managing health and safety across complex operational environments. With strong analytical and decision-making skills, you’ll be confident using performance data to identify opportunities, manage risk and deliver measurable improvements in service, cost and profitability.

WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER?

With a genuine culture of reward and recognition, we want our employees to grow, develop and be part of our journey. We offer a benefits package that includes competitive annual leave entitlement with a fantastic holiday buy scheme, pension and life assurance along with access to an employee benefits platform that offers discounts on gym memberships and money off vouchers for a diverse range of retail, travel and hospitality brands. There’s no doubt that you will be compensated for your hard work and commitment so if you’d like to work for one of the top Logistics providers in the world then please do get in touch to find your next role.
