YOUR ROLE
We’re looking to recruit a Finance Business Analyst to join our Air & Ocean Finance team where you will support the business with quality financial insight, analysis and reporting.
This role will see you playing a key role in turning numbers into meaningful insight that supports informed decision making across a portfolio of branches and with real exposure to operational stakeholders, you will need to balance between strong technical accounting and commercial curiosity.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the Finance Business Partner, you will support specific operational branches with focuses on:
- Producing accurate and timely weekly management accounts, ensuring results are robust and clearly understood by stakeholders.
- Delivering insightful KPI, budget and forecast analysis, explaining variances and trends in a clear and meaningful way.
- Supporting month end close, including preparation and processing of journals in line with reporting timetables.
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies to maintain financial integrity.
- Analysing budget vs actual performance, identifying risks, opportunities and corrective actions.
- Working closely with Finance, Operations and Commercial teams to strengthen financial understanding and support decision‑making.
- Contributing to improvements in financial reporting, automation and efficiency, aligned to a continuous improvement culture.
This role will see you working a hybrid work pattern, with days spent either at our Head Office in Ashby, at Operations or from Home.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be successful in your application you will have proven management accounting and financial reporting experience, either holding or studying towards an accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA). You will have strong analytical skill, with the ability to interpret complex financial data whilst identifying trends and positively influencing decisions.
You will be a natural communicator able to explain complex data and information to financial and non-financial colleagues, be a logical thinker and natural problem solver. It goes without saying that you will be IT literate with good working knowledge of accounting and reporting software’s and proficient with MS Excel.
