YOUR ROLE
The Service Technician plays a key role within our Technical Services team, responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing vehicles to manufacturer standards while delivering exceptional levels of quality and customer satisfaction.
Based at our Chipping Warden facility, you will work as part of a highly skilled team supporting a wide range of vehicle preparation, inspection and repair activities. This role is ideal for a technician who takes pride in delivering high standards of workmanship and enjoys working within a professional automotive environment.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
As a Service Technician, you will carry out vehicle pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), servicing and repairs across a wide range of cars and vans, including mechanical repairs, brake replacement, tyre fitting and routine maintenance activities. Perform all repair and rectification work in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and technical specifications, ensuring vehicles are prepared to the highest quality standards. Using our AssetCare system, you will manage your own workload, record labour accurately and ensure jobs are completed efficiently and on time. You will complete all workshop documentation and technical records accurately, maintaining compliance with manufacturer procedures and company standards. You will work closely with the wider Technical Services, Garage Support, Inspection and Client Services teams to ensure smooth workshop operations and maximise productivity.
identify and report vehicle defects, symptoms of potential failure and any additional repair requirements, escalating issues where specialist support is required. You will also ensure parts are requested accurately and that all completed work is documented thoroughly. A key aspect of the role is maintaining a safe and professional working environment. You will ensure tools, equipment and work areas are kept clean, organised and compliant with health and safety requirements at all times.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be successful in this role, you will hold a recognised automotive qualification such as City & Guilds Level 1, 2 and 3 in Motor Vehicle Studies, BTEC, or an equivalent qualification. You will have at least three years’ experience working in a workshop environment and be confident carrying out vehicle servicing, inspections and mechanical repairs. A strong attention to detail and commitment to quality are essential, alongside the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards. Be a strong team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues but is equally capable of managing your own workload and working independently. Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude are important, with diagnostic experience considered advantageous. Manufacturer training, including electric and hybrid vehicle qualifications, would be beneficial but is not essential. Most importantly, you will have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a passion for delivering excellent results.
