YOUR ROLE
The role of the Business Control Specialist is to ensure the management of the company’s financial and operational performance by providing reliable, relevant, and timely analyses to the management team. This role involves preparing and monitoring budgets, implementing performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing variances between forecasts and actuals, and supporting strategic decision-making. The specialist acts as a true business partner to operational teams to optimize resources, improve profitability, and ensure compliance with established financial objectives.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Budget preparation: Prepare, coordinate, and consolidate annual and forecast budgets with various departments.
- Performance monitoring: Implement and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure profitability and operational efficiency.
- Variance analysis: Compare actual results with forecasts, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Financial reporting: Produce regular reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) for management and stakeholders.
- Cost optimization: Identify improvement levers to optimize expenses and enhance operating margins.
- Decision-making support: Provide relevant financial analyses to support strategic decisions by management.
- Project monitoring: Assist in the financial management of investment or transformation projects.
- Internal control: Ensure compliance with internal procedures and accounting and tax regulations.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with operational, accounting, and management teams to ensure efficient and aligned resource management.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
EDUCATION
- Master (Bac +5) en contrôle de gestion, finance d’entreprise, Comptabilité, Contrôle, et Audit, ou diplôme d’école de commerce avec spécialisation en finance ou contrôle de gestion.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, business control, or auditing.
- Experience in transportation and logistics companies, as well as in diversified and multi-product organizations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Knowledge of financial systems such as SAP, SAGE, JDE, Cosy, and OneStream.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting); Power BI is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and French.
