Job Title: Legal Counsel Director Mexico

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel Director to join CEVA FM Mexico's Business Law division. This leadership role is based at our Mexico City corporate office and forms a key component of the Management team. As Legal Counsel Director, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the company through complex legal landscapes to support and protect its business activities within Mexico and beyond.

Role Overview

In this position, you will serve as the senior legal advisor for CEVA FM Mexico, providing strategic counsel on a wide range of legal matters including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, dispute resolution, and risk management. You will ensure that the organisation's operations align with applicable laws and regulations while supporting business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing comprehensive legal advice and leadership to senior management and business units on all matters affecting the company's operations in Mexico.
• Overseeing the negotiation, drafting, and review of complex contracts and commercial transactions to mitigate legal risks.
• Managing relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies to ensure timely and cost-effective legal support.
• Leading the development and delivery of compliance programmes, training sessions, and legal policies to foster a culture of corporate integrity.
• Monitoring legislative developments and advising on the impact of new laws and regulations on the organisation’s activities.
• Directing and managing any litigation or dispute resolution processes involving the company.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Finance, Operations, and Human Resources to integrate legal insights into business strategies.
• Providing leadership and mentorship to junior legal team members to promote professional development and build a resilient legal department.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified lawyer with a degree recognised in Mexico and a minimum of 10 years’ experience practising corporate or business law, ideally within a multinational environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in contract law, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and dispute resolution.
• Strong leadership capabilities with prior experience managing legal teams and working closely with senior management.
• Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English, with the ability to present complex legal information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, with a pragmatic approach to managing legal risks.
• Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all business matters.
