We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pricing Supervisor Air & Ocean to join our dynamic Carrier Administration team. This pivotal role is instrumental in managing and optimising pricing strategies for our international transportation services across air, ocean (LCL/FCL), ground, and multimodal shipments. The successful candidate will directly contribute to our competitiveness in the global logistics market by ensuring cost-effective and market-responsive pricing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate quotations for international transportation services, incorporating current freight rates, surcharges such as Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF), Currency Adjustment Factor (CAF), Peak Season Surcharge (PSS), and General Rate Increase (GRI). Leverage market intelligence to ensure pricing remains competitive and aligned with market conditions.
- Develop and sustain strategic partnerships with a broad spectrum of key suppliers including ocean and air carriers, trucking firms, warehouse providers, insurance companies, and customs brokers. Continuously nurture these relationships to foster collaboration and secure favourable contract terms.
- Lead negotiations to establish, review, and update rates and contracts with both existing and potential suppliers, ensuring cost efficiency and service reliability.
- Coordinate and manage the onboarding process for new and reactivated vendors through the Link Partners platform, ensuring seamless integration and compliance with company standards.
- Maintain and regularly update rate information within internal systems such as pricing tools and Transportation Management Systems (TMS), thereby supporting operational excellence and data accuracy.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of pricing competitiveness by benchmarking against market rates and trends, including spot rates, capacity fluctuations, congestion factors, and fuel surcharge adjustments. Use insights to recommend strategic pricing adjustments promptly.
- Prepare and deliver well-structured, clear, and professional proposals to internal stakeholders and external partners that articulate pricing strategies and value propositions effectively.
- Communicate proactively with internal cross-functional teams including sales, operations, and finance to maintain awareness and alignment regarding pricing updates and strategies.
- Review and prioritise quotation requests based on urgency and service type, ensuring timely responses and management of pricing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with sales and other departments to develop innovative, client-tailored product solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and business growth.
- Represent the company in meetings with suppliers and business partners, advocating for company interests while fostering transparency and mutual benefits.
- Follow up diligently on commercial opportunities in partnership with the sales team, supporting revenue growth initiatives.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned, contributing to the broader organisational objectives.
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in International Trade, International Business, Logistics, or a related field is required.
- A Master’s degree or specialisation in Pricing, Revenue Management, or Supply Chain Management is highly advantageous and considered a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ relevant experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain pricing management.
- Demonstrable track record in managing pricing and procurement within a global logistics or freight forwarding environment.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Exceptional knowledge of pricing strategies, procurement processes, and rate analysis within air and ocean freight industries.
- Proven negotiation skills with the ability to develop advantageous terms and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, financial modelling, and pricing tools; familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is highly desirable.
Language Requirements:
- Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential to communicate effectively with international partners and internal teams.
