Global Carbon Business Product Owner Expert

YOUR ROLE 

As direct report of the Global Sustainable Transport Director, you are the owner of Carbon (CO2e) data in all processes and systems. In this capacity, you act as the Business Product Owner, accountable for the business value, strategic outcomes, and lifecycle of the transport CO2e data product across CEVA. You also define and own the product vision, value proposition, success criteria, and enterprise roadmap to calculate, govern, and consume CO2e data across CEVA transportation activities.
You aim at allowing proper monitoring and progress of CEVA and its customers’ carbon performance. To succeed in this job, you are in close contact with the other functions, with the regions and with CMA CGM Group (mainly CSR, Energy Transition and Finance departments). The role is the accountable business voice for CSR products in governance and decision forums, ensuring alignment with sustainability strategy, regulatory obligations, and customer value expectations.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ?

Main areas of focus and accountability of the role:

  1. Own the CO2e data linked to the transportation operated by CEVA (40%)
    •    Product Strategy, Value & Lifecycle Ownership
    •    Define and own outcome‑based KPIs and success criteria for the CO2e data product (e.g. accuracy, timeliness, coverage, auditability, customer adoption) and ensure they are monitored throughout the product lifecycle
    •    Own the product lifecycle strategy for transport CO2e data capabilities, including evolution, optimization, and retirement decisions where relevant
    •    Ensure the roadmap reflects enterprise wide value, not local optimization, and remains aligned with CEVA sustainability strategy and CSR commitments
    •    You are the Function Owner of the CO2e related reporting systems and guardian of the sound calculation of the CO2e emissions

•    Define the strategy and the roadmap to achieve accurate, timely and decision-enabling CO2e data in all systems implemented by CEVA:CO2e calculation tools, customers’ dashboards, quotation tools, operational tools, optimizing tools
•    Cooperate with IT (internal and external) during all phases of the various projects: write business requirements, tests the corrections, evolutions and new developments. Continuously aligns with IT also by providing business intent, value priorities, and acceptance criteria, and by validating that delivered outcomes meet agreed business objectives
•    Represent the business during steering committees
•    Prepare communication with end-users to present new features
•    Support end users

   2. Decision & Business Case Ownership, Business acceptance (10%)
•    The role owns business prioritization and trade‑off decisions (value, risk, urgency, compliance), including the authority to approve, defer, de‑scope, or stop initiatives when value justification changes
•    For major evolutions, the role sponsors and validates the business case and ongoing value justification of investments related to CO2e data and reporting capabilities
•    Define business acceptance criteria and provide final business sign‑off for releases and go‑live readiness from a value, adoption, and business‑risk perspective


      3.Set up transport CO2e measurement watch (15%)
•    Watch hard and soft law on CO2e measurement for transport: ISO14083, Smart Freight Center / GLEC, SBTi, GHG Protocol…
•    Watch external CO2e calculators
•    Watch CO2e features proposed by competitors
•    Translate regulatory and market evolution into prioritized product decisions and roadmap updates, ensuring continued compliance and business value

     4. Be accountable for transport CO2e reporting (20%)
•    Liaise with the team in charge of CSR reporting within CSR department to ensure accurate and timely global carbon footprint reporting. Allow granularity (region, country, product…)
•    Participate in CSR external audits
•    Collaborate with the team in charge of CO2e trajectory within CEVA CSR department. Enable tracking of CO2e savings achieved
•    Develop both industrialized and advanced CO2e dashboards for customers 
•    Own benefits realization related to CO2e reporting and dashboards by tracking expected vs. realized value (e.g. transparency, audit readiness, customer insights) and triggering corrective actions or reprioritization when required

      5. Integrate other CSR data into internal and external reporting (15%)
•    Integrate other CSR data into internal and external reporting: CO2e emitted by sites, other CSR data required by customers (e.g. KPIs on social and/or societal domains)
•    Apply the same standards of value ownership, prioritization, acceptance, and auditability to integrated CSR data as for transport CO2e data

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR ?

  • Education & Qualifications    University – Master’s Degree: business, finance, environment or engineering    
  • At least 8 years of professional experience
  • Previous experience in business analysis, product / data ownership
  • Comfortable with Excel and digital tools (Power BI, Qliksense…)
  • Analytic and synthetic mindset
  • Clear PPT presentations
  • Interpersonal & Communication Skills    
  • Oral communication skills
  • Fluency in French and English (written and spoken)
