Job Purpose

The ETL Solution Expert is a key technical contributor within CEVA's Dev Factory team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data integration pipelines across the logistics application landscape. The role covers the full lifecycle of ETL solutions built on Talend, from initial design through production support, while actively contributing to the ongoing migration from IBM Datastage to Talend.

Beyond hands-on delivery, the ETL Solution Expert acts as a team lead for the developers resources based in Vietnam (CESA), ensuring quality, consistency in code and documentation. The role bridges business and IT application with distributed delivery teams, and plays an active part in evolving the data integration practice.

Key Accountabilities

ETL Development & Pipeline Maintenance

  • Design, develop, and maintain data integration pipelines using Talend (on-premise and Cloud), ensuring alignment with Air&Ocean CoE data quality requirements.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and reusable ETL code; document technical specifications and pipeline logic for knowledge transfer and auditability.
  • Optimize existing pipelines for performance, reliability, and scalability across high-volume logistics data flows (MDM, finance).
  • Manage and monitor scheduled jobs, handle alerts, and proactively identify bottlenecks or failures before they impact business operations.

Production Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide Level 2/3 support for ETL pipelines in production, investigating incidents, identifying root causes, and applying durable fixes.
  • Maintain a clear incident and resolution log; contribute to post-mortems and continuous improvement of pipeline stability.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and platform teams to ensure monitoring, alerting, and logging are in place for all critical data flows.
  • Support business and functional teams during period-end or high-load events where data pipeline reliability is critical.

Team Lead (CESA Vietnam)

  • Act as the functional and Technial point of contact and day-to-day lead for ETL developers based in Vietnam (CESA), without formal management authority.
  • Assign tasks, review deliverables, and provide technical guidance to ensure offshore output meets quality and architecture standards.
  • Run regular synchronisation calls and maintain clear communication across time zones; escalate blockers or capacity issues to the line manager.
  • Contribute to onboarding, upskilling, and capability development of team members on Talend, Moira, Semarchy, OnBase and any other tooling required in ETL transformations.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Data Engineering.
  • Talend certification (Developer or Architect level) — desirable.
  • Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification — desirable.

Experience

  • 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in ETL development and data integration, with strong Talend expertise (on-premise and/or Cloud).
  • Demonstrated experience in production support and incident management for data pipelines in a complex, multi-system environment.
  • Prior experience coordinating or leading distributed/offshore technical teams — functional leadership without direct management authority.
  • Exposure to logistics or supply chain IT environments is an advantage (freight, TMS, EDI flows).

Specialist Knowledge & Skills

  • Talend (on-premise / Talend Cloud): job design, component usage, orchestration, error handling, performance tuning.
  • GCP data platform: BigQuery (SQL, data modelling), Dataflow (batch and streaming pipelines) — working knowledge expected, deepening on the job.
  • SQL proficiency: complex queries, joins, aggregations, data quality checks across relational databases.
  • Data integration patterns: batch, micro-batch, change data capture (CDC), file-based transfer (SFTP/MFT).
  • Version control and DevOps basics: Git, CI/CD pipeline awareness, deployment in a DevOps environment.
  • Understanding of data governance concepts: data lineage, data quality, metadata management.
  • Familiarity with scheduling and monitoring tools (e.g. Control-M, custom alerting, GCP Workflows).

Interpersonal & Communication Skills

  • Strong analytical mindset: able to diagnose complex data issues across multi-layer pipelines quickly and methodically.
  • Effective cross-cultural communication: comfortable leading daily interactions with offshore teams across time zones.
  • Clear and structured written communication: able to document technical designs, migration analyses, and incident reports for varied audiences.
  • Autonomous and self-organised: able to manage concurrent tasks (support, delivery, migration) with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborative team player: shares knowledge proactively, contributes to team standards, and supports peers on complex issues.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) — required for daily communication with CESA Vietnam and international stakeholders.

As a global organization, and as part of the CMA CGM Group, diversity is critical to our business success; only when we can reflect the cultures, languages, behaviors and local knowledge of our customers, we can succeed. By employing people with different experiences and abilities, we expand our knowledge and increase our creativity and innovation.

Please note:  Legitimate CEVA Logistics recruitment processes include communication with candidates through recognized professional networks, such as LinkedIn or via an official company email address: firstname.lastname@cevalogistics.com. We recommend that you do not respond to unsolicited business propositions and/or offers from people with whom you are unfamiliar.
