YOUR ROLE

To provide legal advice and support on International Business law, Transport law and Maritime law for Finished Vehicle Logistics ensuring compliance with Ceva Business Rules, risk mitigation, and alignment with CEVA’s strategic objectives.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Key responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate international commercial contracts (client/supplier agreements, freight forwarding, multimodal, all types of transportation with focus on maritime activities (especially with OEMs), logistics agreements, NDAs, LOIs, MOUs, charter parties, bills of lading).
• Advise internal stakeholders (Operations, Commercial teams, etc) on legal risks, compliance with Ceva Business Rules and other internal policies, and dispute resolution related to contracts and operations.
• Monitor legal developments in transport/maritime law and update internal policies, contract templates and frameworks accordingly.
• Collaborate closely especially with FVL Operations and other Departments (Insurance, Compliance, Customs, CMA CGM divisions, external counsel, etc).

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

• Master’s Degree in Law (LLM or equivalent), specialized in International Business Law, Transport Law, or Maritime Law (e.g., Master 2 Droit des Affaires/Contrats). Additional qualifications in Maritime Law (e.g., LL.M. Maritime Law) is a plus
• Fluent in English and French (written/verbal)
• 5–7 years in-house legal team in the international companies (preferably in shipping, logistics, or transport sectors). Proven experience in drafting/negotiating international contracts (Transport/logistics agreements). Familiarity with CEVA’s business model or similar organizations is a plus
• Deep knowledge of international business law, international transport conventions (e.g., Hague-Visby Rules, Rotterdam Rules, COGSA, CIM, CMR), and maritime conventions (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL). Strong contract law expertise (liability, commercial, supply chain clauses)
• Strong Analytical mindset, rigor and precision in drafting/advice, strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, ability to simplify complex legal concepts for non-legal teams, team player with a problem-solving attitude, multicultural sensitivity (experience working across regions) and proactive approach to legal risk identification is desirable
