YOUR ROLE
Our freight management team based in Dublin have an exciting opportunity for an Air & Ocean Operations Manager where you will lead and develop both air and ocean operations with focuses on operational excellence, customer satisfaction, profitability, compliance, and continuous improvement while leading the team and carrier relationships.
This role requires someone with a deep understanding of freight forwarding operations experienced in leading and developing high performing teams and knowledgeable in international transportation processes and practices.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the Dublin Branch Manager, you will lead a team of 6 air and ocean operators, where you will focus on:
- Managing the air and ocean operation, driving customer service and operational excellence
- Act as the first escalation point for all Air & Ocean customers
- Collaborate with our business development team to support new business opportunities
- Ensure that the team is fully trained and equipped to fulfil the roles and responsibilities and embed future employee development
- Develop excellent working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Responsible for operational cost control, productivity, added value offerings, and account management
- Support the Branch Manager with any additional tasks as and when required
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be successful in your application you will have proven experience in freight forwarding, particularly in air and ocean operations, with in-depth knowledge of international transportation and a proven track record in leading the development and implementation of new solutions, processes and operational improvements.
This role requires a proven team leader who is practiced in developing high performance teams, excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and develop relationships at all levels as well as being a natural problem solver, decision maker and logical thinker.
This role will see you working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
