YOUR ROLE
Our growing Customs team based in Felixstowe is looking for an experienced Customs Administrator to support with customs clearances for our Air, Ocean, and Road Freight customers.
You will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise through the UK Customs Academy, with full support to complete your Level 2 qualification.
This is a Monday to Friday role, working 08:30–17:00, with a requirement to work one Saturday in every four. A day off in lieu will be provided for Saturday working..
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting to the Customs Team Leader, you will work closely with your colleagues to ensure all customs clearances are processed accurately and efficiently for goods entering the UK, typically from European countries, on behalf of a diverse range of customers.
Using systems such as Destin8 and CNS, you will manage inventory links and ensure all required information is accurately included within customs entries. You will maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring all customs documentation is complete, accurate, and fully compliant with relevant regulations, helping to prevent errors or delays.
The role also involves regular communication with customers, so you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong, long-lasting relationships. You will provide guidance and support throughout the customs clearance process, ensuring customers receive a high-quality service at every stage.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate will need to come with experience working in a Customs Administrator or Customs Coordinator role (or similar) and be confident working in a role that services a large and varied customer base. You’ll need to understand and implement best practice within your role to ensure compliance is maintained, being proactive and efficient in your communication with customers, and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
