Sr. Manager WMS Migration – NEXTGEN Transformation
Job Purpose
The Sr. Manager WMS Migration – NEXTGEN Transformation is responsible for leading the North American warehouse management system transformation portfolio, overseeing the migration of more than 70 contract logistics sites and customers from legacy warehouse management systems to the Manhattan Active platform, including Manhattan Active Warehouse Management (MAWM) and Manhattan Active Order Management (MAO).
As the transformation program moves from pilot phase to large-scale deployment, the role is accountable for driving a multi-year rollout strategy, with an initial objective of delivering approximately 30 site migrations within 2.5 years. Working in close collaboration with the Global Center of Excellence (CoE), the position combines strategic portfolio governance with hands-on program delivery leadership. The incumbent is responsible for roadmap development, financial and resource management, stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and successful program execution while ensuring alignment with global standards and templates.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Strategy and Governance
Lead the North American WMS transformation portfolio across sites and customers in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Develop and maintain the migration roadmap, including deployment waves, site prioritization, resource planning, and dependency management. Govern multiple concurrent implementations and establish portfolio governance processes, decision-making forums, escalation mechanisms, and reporting standards. Communicate program status, risks, financial performance, and strategic decisions to regional and global leadership while ensuring a balance between executive oversight and operational execution.
Deployment Management
Lead the transition from pilot completion into large-scale rollout. Ensure all projects follow a structured implementation methodology covering requirements gathering, solution validation, system configuration, integrations, testing, data migration, operational readiness, cutover, go-live, hypercare, and transition to support. Monitor project readiness, critical paths, resource constraints, and operational risks while ensuring stable deployments with minimal impact on customer service and warehouse operations. Drive recovery plans and corrective actions when projects encounter scope, schedule, quality, or readiness challenges. Support go-live and hypercare activities, including evening and weekend coverage when necessary.
Global Template Governance
Ensure consistent adoption of the Manhattan Active global template defined by the Global CoE. Govern exception management processes, evaluate site-specific requirements, escalate design gaps and regional requirements, and coordinate approved template enhancements. Promote continuous improvement by capturing and applying lessons learned to increase deployment quality, efficiency, and repeatability across the portfolio.
Financial and Resource Management
Manage an annual transformation budget exceeding $5 million. Oversee forecasting, budget tracking, cost control, variance analysis, and financial risk management. Align project demand with available internal and external resources, prioritize investments according to business value and deployment readiness, and ensure portfolio decisions consider operational, technical, financial, and customer impacts.
Customer and Executive Stakeholder Management
Act as a senior technology delivery partner for contract logistics customers. Develop strong relationships with customer executives, operations leaders, regional management teams, and global technology stakeholders. Manage escalations, facilitate cross-functional issue resolution, and maintain alignment on project scope, timelines, readiness criteria, and risks. Communicate complex operational and technical topics effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences while maintaining stakeholder confidence through transparent reporting and reliable delivery.
Vendor Management
Oversee the performance of Manhattan Associates and other technology or implementation partners supporting the transformation program. Establish clear expectations regarding deliverables, quality standards, timelines, resource commitments, and acceptance criteria. Hold vendors accountable for performance, manage escalations, and ensure vendor capacity remains aligned with portfolio requirements and rollout plans.
Team Leadership
Lead and develop a team of four IT Project Managers and ten IT Business Analysts. Set objectives, delivery standards, and ways of working while ensuring effective resource allocation across projects. Coach Project Managers in governance, planning, financial management, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and executive communication. Support Business Analysts in requirements management, process design, testing, and template adoption. Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
Organizational Context
The role reports to the Regional IT Delivery Director and operates within the IT Delivery organization. It works closely with Operations, Business Project Managers, customers, Global IT teams, the IT Project Management Office, Project Managers, and Business Analysts to ensure successful transformation delivery across the region.
Qualifications and Experience

Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project/program management certifications are preferred.
Minimum 10 years of IT delivery experience, including at least five years managing large-scale programs or project portfolios.
