YOUR ROLE

 Accountable for the fiscal and operational oversight, leadership, direction and overall management of a region; and sales of diverse products and services in large markets to ensure that growth and profitability goals and objectives are met. Also responsible for implementation and compliance with company policies and procedures, ISO standards and all applicable regulatory guidelines. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Oversee, lead, direct and manage the fiscal and overall operations of a region to ensure that growth and profitability goals and objectives are met.
  • Responsible for business development, sales, marketing and new account development for the region to ensure that maximum transportation revenue is generated to achieve profitability goals and objectives.
  • Plan and implement appropriate resources (staffing, training, equipment and systems) to ensure contractual compliance and delivery of quality services that meet and exceed the customer’s expectations.
  • Provide the region operation’s team with daily guidance, leadership and overall support on any issues relating to operations, communication, revenue enhancement, human resources, procedures standardization, systems applications and process execution.
  • Work directly with the region management team to establish regional and local goals within the parameters of the region operation’s business plan.
  • Develop and execute policies, plans and programs to meet anticipated organizational needs in the areas of functional responsibility.
  • Work collaboratively with sales, marketing, customer service, operations, IT and corporate administration to ensure efficient operations.
  • Review and evaluate regional P & L performance and establish short-term goals to address any budgetary shortfalls.
  • Develop continuous improvement methodology in key areas of service, profit and growth.
  • Develop customer relationships and ensure that customer service and operational levels within the region operations are maintained.
  • Assist regions with sales presentations, customer bids and the promotion of the company’s products and services.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, ISO standards and all applicable regulatory laws and guidelines.
  • Oversee and manage the professional development and productivity of direct reports to ensure proper goals, training, professional development and project requirements are met.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within department and address all employee performance problems promptly and directly in accordance with Company personnel policies.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technology changes and innovations through formal or informal study, reading business and professional publications, networking and participation in professional organizations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • In-depth experience in financial management of a department, station or region (P & L, balance sheet, forecasting, and budgets) to effectuate return on investment.
  • Experienced in directing and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, metrics, and regulatory compliance (both domestic and international).
  • PC Literate. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific applications.
  • Capable of communicating and interacting effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds and ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Demonstrated success in leading, directing, managing, and developing directors, managers, senior staff and high performance teams. Demonstrated leadership skills both in influencing a complex organization, and in driving operational and systems improvements.
  • Proficient in project management methodologies with a focus on managing solution driven strategy plans to achieve goals.
  • Prior management experience and knowledge of business planning methodologies, competitive analysis, and strategy development. Skilled in collaborative management and motivational techniques.
  • Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision making, organization, presentation and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition; handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and the organization.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

 

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 12 years related experience in progressively responsible roles in similar environments. Minimum 7 years supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of all company product and service lines including third party logistics, gateway operations, freight consolidation and domestic and international freight forwarding and warehousing.
  • In-depth experience in supply chain management (end to end); and multi-modal (ocean, air, TL and LTL).
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing product sales and marketing strategies.
  • Knowledgeable of U.S. retail markets and carrier negotiations.

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics or a related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education, work experience and completion of the LDP Program.
  • Minimum 7 years industry experience.

 

Travel: Travel may be required at least 40% of the time within the U.S.
