YOUR ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Contract Logistics Supervisor – Facilities to oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility, manage service providers and the level of service they are responsible for.  This role is also responsible to ensure compliance in terms of the OHS act of South Africa.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  1. Operations:
  • Assist and support with the developing and implementation of warehouse policies and procedures, including inventory management, quality control, and equipment maintenance in line with CEVA support operations.
  • Coordinate with other departments, including logistics, sales, and customer service, to ensure that all orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Manage the physical layout of the warehouse, including organizing and maintaining storage areas and optimizing space utilization.
  • WMS Super User - WMS system maintenance, ensure system is aligned with actual operations required.  Training of employees on the WMS system.
  • Ensure implementation on new customers are managed effectively.

 

  1. Health and Safety:
  • Ensure that all warehouse activities are performed safely and in compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ensure training in line with safety requirements are kept up to date.
  • Ensure compliance with OHS act in support of the appointed service provider.

 

  1. Facility management:
  • Use warehouse management systems and other software tools to track inventory levels, monitor warehouse performance, and generate reports.
  • Maintain equipment and building provisions to meet health and safety requirements.
  • Manage service levels of service providers responsible for functions within the facility.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse and equipment to identify and address any safety or maintenance issues.
  • Inspecting buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and certifications is kept up to date.
  • Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.
  • Ensure all building facilities adhere to proper safety standards and cleaning procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all warehouse activities and ensure that all documentation is properly filed and archived.
  • Implement an effective planned preventive maintenance program and manage it to ensure the
  • equipment is maintained in at an optimal operational level.

 

  1. Financial Management
  • Keep financial and non-financial records.
  • Manage monthly billing for all customers, perform analysis and forecasting.
  • Review direct operating expenses and ensure efficiency.
  • Create purchase orders on the required system as required by policy.
  • Manage labour service provider and allocation of labour hours.

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a facilities, administrative, or procurement support role
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of business operations, including supply chain management, logistics, and inventory management
  • Strong analytical attention to detail.
  • Familarity with warehouse equipment and manchinery including forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Must be able to stand, walk and bend for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and coach team members.
