YOUR ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner to join our Contract Logistics business, partnering closely with senior stakeholders to drive financial performance across the business.

This is a commercially focused role that goes beyond the production of financial reports and standard analysis. You will provide clear, accurate financial insight and work closely with operational and commercial stakeholders to challenge performance, identify opportunities and support effective business decision-making.

This role can be based at our Head Office in Ashby-de-la-Zouch or an operational site based in Northamptonshire.

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 DOE + package.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Own the accurate and timely production of weekly and monthly management accounts, ensuring appropriate checks are completed and results are agreed with the Business Controller, with a clear view of past, present and future performance, risks and contingencies.
  • Partner with the Business Unit Director and operational teams to improve profitability and margin, challenging trends and KPIs and driving operational and commercial improvements.
  • Maintain strong control over the balance sheet, including reviewing and approving monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Adopt a strong customer focus, identifying opportunities for organic growth and renewals while developing an understanding of customer plans, industries and risks.
  • Take commercial ownership of the Business Unit, supporting new business bids, renewals, CAPEX/ICAP activity and developing a detailed understanding of customer contracts to identify revenue leakage and scope creep.
  • Work with operational teams to agree and provide an accurate monthly operating plan to the Business Controller, identifying key risks and contingencies.
  • Support the approval of annual budgets and forecasts alongside operational management.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You will be a commercially minded finance professional who is confident working with operational and customer-facing stakeholders and able to translate complex financial information into clear insight and actions.

  • A chartered accounting qualification – CIMA or ACCA.
  • Experience working in an operational and customer-facing environment.
  • A proven track record of identifying and implementing improvements.
  • Strong commercial and business partnering skills, with the confidence to challenge performance and influence decision-making.
  • Expert Excel skills.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.
  • The ability to develop several options to resolve complex problems where there is no obvious right answer.

WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER?

With a genuine culture of reward and recognition, we want our employees to grow, develop and be part of our journey. We offer a benefits package that includes competitive annual leave entitlement with a fantastic holiday buy scheme, pension and life assurance along with access to an employee benefits platform that offers discounts on gym memberships and money off vouchers for a diverse range of retail, travel and hospitality brands. There’s no doubt that you will be compensated for your hard work and commitment so if you’d like to work for one of the top Logistics providers in the world then please do get in touch to find your next role.
