The Solution Expert (SOLEX) is responsible for delivering projects, Change Request, and bug fixes for our internal Rates Management System (RMS) solutions. These solutions, part of the Middle Office landscape, capture and manage rates from maritime and air carriers. It represents 6 000 internal actives users The SOLEX is in charge of scoping, specifying, and testing solution enhancements while ensuring full alignment with business requirements, IT standards, and best practices. The role involves close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, including Business teams, Business Process Analysts (BPAs), developers, testers, support teams, architects, and PMO, management. As part of run & maintain activities, the SOLEX handles bug resolution, implements remediation plans, creates and enriches taskcards, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

1. Solution Design & Architecture · Analyze business needs and translate them into functional and technical solution designs and specifications. · Work closely with Enterprise Architecture to ensure alignment with IT standards, best practices, and governance frameworks. · Ensure consistency, reliability, scalability, and maintainability across Middle Office applications. · Contribute to solution roadmaps

2. Project Delivery & Implementation · Lead end-to-end implementation of approved solutions, from design to testing and deployment. · Coordinate with technical teams and external vendors to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. · Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions when required. · Work closely with the Quality & Compliance (Q&C) team to define and implement test cases.

· In collaboration with Business Process Analysts (BPAs), define business scenarios and lead end to end testing sessions. · Drive / coordinate all communications related to release Life cycle (UAT, scope, release announcements, hypercare post release…)

3. Project management : - Facilitate workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and solution validation meetings with key stakeholders. - Ensure stakeholder expectations are met through clear communication, structured follow-up, and transparent reporting. - Define and structure the business need, ensuring sufficient detail and clarity for development teams to estimate effort, resources, and overall project cost. - Prepare and support the Steering Committee in collaboration with the PMO, ensuring clear visibility on progress, risks, and key decisions.

4. Quality, Standard & compliance : - Enforce adherence to IT methodologies, security requirements, and compliance standards across all solution activities. - Develop and maintain documentation, including solution specifications, architecture diagrams, operational guides, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). - Support continuous improvement and standardization initiatives to strengthen solution quality, maintainability, and governance.

5. Run&Maintain of the application : - Analyze production incidents, reproduce steps when applicable, and translate them into clear and actionable bug reports for development teams - Leverage GetHelp to prioritize and manage incident resolution, ensuring proper triage, assignment, and follow-up in alignment with business criticality and service level - Enrich and maintain the taskcard database for our solutions.

6. Backlog Management: - Manage development sizing estimation, resource needs - Define planning / timelines of the releases - Ensure alignment with business priorities and delivery constraints

7. Required sklills & qualifications : - Proven experience in solution design, project delivery, or technical consultancy. - Solid understanding of IT governance, architecture principles, and integration patterns. - Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-interaction skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment

Education & Qualifications

  • The role requires fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Specialist Knowledge & Skills

  • The position requires experience working in Agile environments and with Agile methodologies.
  • It also requires hands-on experience with DevOps practices and backlog management, including epics, features, user stories, and bugs.
  • Strong organizational skills are essential, with the ability to structure work and manage priorities effectively.
  • The role demands excellent analytical and synthesis abilities, with great attention to detail and clarity.
  • A problem‑solving mindset is required, with the ability to address issues proactively and propose effective solutions.

Interpersonal & Communication Skills

  • The person must be able to perform under business pressure and manage priorities efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

Desirable

Education & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of additional languages is considered an advantage.

Specialist Knowledge & Skills

  • A good understanding of freight forwarding activities is desirable, including operational workflows, carrier interactions, and logistics processes.
