YOUR ROLE

We’re looking for an organised, customer-focused Export Clerk to join our team and play a key role in ensuring shipments move smoothly from booking through to final documentation and invoicing.

You’ll manage your own portfolio of export customers, build strong relationships and be the key point of contact for shipping queries. Working closely with customers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, documentation teams and internal stakeholders, you’ll help ensure every shipment is processed accurately, efficiently and on time.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Manage and maintain a designated portfolio of export customers, acting as the primary point of contact for all shipping inquiries.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers to understand their business needs and requirements.
  • Proactively communicate with customers to provide updates on shipment status, documentation requirements, and any potential issues.
  • Resolve customer queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor booking deadlines and ensure all documentation is submitted within required timeframes.
  • Maintain accurate records of all bookings in the company's operating system.
  • Work in close partnership with the documentation team to ensure seamless handover of shipment files.
  • Verify that all export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and export licences, is complete, accurate, and compliant with UK and international regulations.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Customer-focused approach with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER?

With a genuine culture of reward and recognition, we want our employees to grow, develop and be part of our journey. We offer a benefits package that includes competitive annual leave entitlement with a fantastic holiday buy scheme, pension and life assurance along with access to an employee benefits platform that offers discounts on gym memberships and money off vouchers for a diverse range of retail, travel and hospitality brands. There’s no doubt that you will be compensated for your hard work and commitment so if you’d like to work for one of the top Logistics providers in the world then please do get in touch to find your next role.
