Pay Range: $75,000-$85,000 + Annual Bonus Opporunity 

YOUR ROLE

The Customs Brokerage Import Supervisor I oversees daily customs brokerage operations to ensure the accurate, compliant, and timely clearance of import and export shipments. This role supervises brokerage staff, enforces compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, and serves as a key liaison between clients, government agencies, and internal teams.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
  • Supervise daily customs brokerage activities, including entry filings, classifications, valuations, and duty payments,
  • Ensure timely clearance of shipments while meeting customer service expectations
  • Review and approve customs entries for accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure adherence to CBP regulations, FDA, USDA, EPA, and other applicable government agency requirements
  • Stay current on changes in customs laws, trade agreements, tariffs, and compliance standards
  • Support audits, prior disclosures, and internal compliance reviews
  • Train, mentor, and supervise customs brokerage staff
  • Assign workloads, monitor performance, and ensure productivity targets are met
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development
  • Serve as escalation point for complex shipments or compliance issues
  • Communicate with clients regarding customs requirements, delays, or regulatory concerns
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance processes
  • Support implementation of new systems, procedures, or regulatory changes
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and compliance teams to support business goals
  • Other Duties as assigned

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of customs brokerage experience
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred

Certifications

  • U.S. Customs Broker License preferred or in progress

Knowledge & Skills

  • In‑depth knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and import/export procedures
  • Experience with HTS classification, valuation, and country‑of‑origin determination
  • Proficiency with customs brokerage software and MS Office
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
