  • Review all documents including pre-alert, e manifest, draft INV and handle other tasks as needed. The individual in this position must be capable of performing all the essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Checks all required Import documents from counterparts (carrier, consignee, supplier, etc.) to ensure documents are complying with customs regulation and internal procedures
  • Checks responses from counterparts and finalizes validation of required documents
  • Follows-up shipment status in the Import area, identifies incidents and ensures resolution of incidents
  • Ensure outstanding service of import team by overseeing workflow and work prioritization and by communicating directly with customer service team
  • Resolve workflow and special processing issues by maximizing productivity and resource allocation and by analyzing problems and communicating ideas and solutions to other business units and managers.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance by administering company policies and procedures and by establishing audit procedures
  • Keep internal and external customers updated regarding the arrival of shipments, any delays of their cargo, and when their shipments are available for pick up and/or delivery.
  • Initiate and maintain customer master profiles to have correct information on hand to offer consistent service and solution.
  • Maintain close liaison with the accredited broker and other government agencies for various specialized Customs clearance requirements.
  • Communicating information and instructions to/from vendors.
  • Researching and resolving operational problems.
  • Train new hires on departmental processes and procedures.
  • Filing and safe keeping of Shipment file and other necessary documents for future reference
  • Comply with company requirements related to QHSE.
  • Ensures implementation of customer SOP – traffic analysis
  • Monitoring of KPI agreement based on contract or agreed SOP
  • Select/train/motivate/provide guidance and develop co-employees in the import department
  • Promotes accountability and solution driven.
  • Collaborate with the team and other dept. to ensure clear communication, alignment, and efficient execution accounts handled.
  • Is responsible for identifying performance issues of suppliers and proposes solutions to improve/correct performance
  • Performs IT systems related tasks to provide up to date information on shipment
