Finance Business Partner | Global Ground

Job Purpose

Act as a Business partner for the Global Ground Product Line organization with the overall objective to improve profitability levels, by monitoring region / country / customer performance closely, performing business analytics and link Operational KPIs with Financial Impact, identify and recommend potential operational efficiencies and improvements and develop remedial turnaround plans. Contributes to drive Operations Control compliance and improvement are the key objectives for this role.

The Finance Business Partner Global Ground acts as owner of the Ground Finance system / process manual and ensures adequate controls are in place.  

Key Accountabilities 

  • Responsible for the local extraction of the operational KPIs, P&L’s and productivity performance and cooperate closely with the global product line where required at 5 regions and more than +45 countries
  • Implement Ground Finance systems blue print to standardize reporting processes and ensure consistent and accurate information across the network,
  • Establish link between Operational KPI’s and Financial Impact. Advice Product Line Management team and regions on ICAP and commercial issues.
  • Usage and development of reporting tools (Qliknsns App, PowerBI, JD Edwards allocation processes, TMS Finance modules) and manual processes

  • Perform adhoc business analysis with objectives to improve Product Line profitability and /or mitigate risks.

  • Support the development and negotiation of customer and supplier contracts and continuously assess the effectiveness of them

  • Play active role in development and implementation of Finance Product Line strategy, including periodic performance review templates; KPI measurement and tracking, forecasting and Budgeting

  • Maintain robust insight into VID status in terms of accruals, actuals and collections

  • Proactively put forward proposals to improve Global Product Line finance processes and cash performance and work closely on projects with other finance functions to drive improvement (eg E-invoicing; profit share policies etc). Reduce “waste” on Intercompany disputes, internal policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills 

Education & Qualifications : Master's degree in finance

Experience : 

  • 5-10 years experience in multiple finance roles
  • Financial planning/analysis and financial controlling experience
  • Network / Ground Product Line experience
  • Has held roles at both Global as well as in a Country or Region (a+)
  • Experience with C-level executives exposure (a+)

Specialist Knowledge & Skills :

  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Supply chain industry experience
  • System knowledge: Transportation Management Systems, JDE, HFM, QlikView (a+)

Interpersonal & Communication Skills 

  • Communicate effectively in both written and spoken English; 
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and influence across an international, complex matrix organization
