YOUR ROLE

The Corporate Tax Expert serves as the lead tax advisor for the French perimeter, covering approximately 50 legal entities. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with French tax regulations while supporting business operations and strategic initiatives. Acting as a trusted partner to Finance, Legal, and business teams, the expert provides guidance on corporate tax matters, restructurings, M&A transactions, and tax audits. The position also focuses on identifying and mitigating tax risks, optimizing tax positions, and driving tax-related projects across the French organization within a large international group.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ?

Main areas of focus and accountability of the role – detail in order of importance the main areas of accountability of the role:

  • Manage the French Corporate Income Tax (CIT) compliance process for the French tax consolidated group (approximately 50 legal entities), including tax computations, tax returns, estimated tax payments and effective tax rate monitoring.

 

  • Coordinate local tax compliance, including property taxes, business taxes and other French local taxes, while identifying opportunities to optimize tax positions and mitigate risks.

 

  • Provide tax support for strategic business projects, including real estate transactions, financing arrangements, treasury operations, legal entity reorganizations and cross-border restructurings.

 

  • Manage the tax workstream for mergers, acquisitions and divestments, performing tax due diligence, structuring analyses and post-acquisition integration from a French tax perspective.

 

  • Manage transfer pricing matters relating to the French entities, including policy implementation, documentation, intercompany agreements and support for transfer pricing audits and controversy.

 

  • Lead and coordinate tax audits and tax controversy involving the French Tax Authorities, including managing relationships with the DVNI, preparing technical positions, negotiating settlements and coordinating external advisors where appropriate.

 

  • Monitor changes in French tax legislation, assess their impact on the Group and ensure the implementation of appropriate compliance and governance measures.

 

  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Treasury and Business teams to provide practical, value-added tax advice, ensuring tax considerations are appropriately integrated into operational and strategic decision-making.µ

 

  • Contribute to the Group's tax governance and risk management framework, promoting robust internal controls, documentation standards, process improvements and adherence to the Group's tax strategy and compliance policies.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR ?

 

  • Master degree in tax law or fiscal economics or similar

 

  • At least 5–7 years of experience in French corporate tax, preferably gained in a multinational environment and/or a Big Four firm. Proven expertise in tax compliance, tax audits, tax advisory, and tax risk management.

 

  • Strong expertise in French corporate tax law, tax compliance, tax audits, tax risk management, and tax structuring. Proven ability to provide practical tax advice to business stakeholders, manage complex tax projects, and identify opportunities while ensuring full regulatory compliance.

 

  • Strong ability to build trusted relationships with business stakeholders, finance teams, external advisors, and tax authorities.

 

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly to non-tax audiences.

 

  • Collaborative and influential team player, able to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment.

 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset combined with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach. Able to manage priorities under pressure while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
