We are looking for a passionate Senior Manager Sanctions Counsel to join our Ethics & Compliance (E&C) Function, contributing to drive a culture of sustainable business growth in line with our key values, ensuring we exceed the expectations of our customers, and collaborating with other functions to foster an integrated approach to managing compliance risks.
Acting as a trusted business partner, you are responsible for managing core elements of our sanctions related processes & trade compliance program on a global scale, leading associated activities, developing, implementing, and continuously improving processes, strategies, and systems; as well as ensuring a strong business partnership and alignment with other functions.
As a seasoned Sanctions Counsel with experience in a similar role, you will have continued interactions with various business partners, our customers, and other assurance functions to ensure the company’s operations are in line with applicable regulations.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Further enhance, develop, and continuously update CEVA’s economic sanctions compliance program.
- Support operational and commercial teams by analysing legal requirements and transposing them into actionable recommendations for business operations, business development, and project teams.
- Oversee and execute the review of sensitive transactions / RFQs and provide clearance conditions to proceed.
- Review of sanctions compliance contract clauses.
- Analyse, monitor, and advise on the mitigation of international sanctions risks included in the regulations issued by the European Union, the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Nations, and other applicable national regimes.
- Stay abreast of legal, regulatory, and geopolitical developments that will allow for anticipation of impact on CEVA’s activities.
- Draft internal memoranda, guidelines, and policies to ensure effective dissemination of economic sanctions compliance requirements.
- Develop and deliver training sessions on sanctions and export controls for commercial teams, operational teams, and international subsidiaries.
- Manage a remote team of excellent professionals in the sanctions domain.
- LLM / Master in Law / Bar Exam
- At least 7 years of experience in a similar role
- Affinity with IT systems and screening tools mitigating sanctions exposure
- In-depth knowledge of EU, US, UK, UN sanctions (products, parties, ports, financials)
- Knowledge of the Chinese sanctions regime is considered a plus
- Capability of using plain and simple language when converting complex legal regulations into human understandable and actionable items
- Ability to prioritize
- Ability to separate applicable to non-applicable regulation in view of freight management and logistical operations
- Fluent in English and French

You possess solid corporate political acumen.
