The Mexico Tax manager will be responsible for overseeing all tax-related matters in Mexico, ensuring compliance with local tax laws, and providing strategic tax planning and advice to the company. This position also manages Mexico tax audits for both direct and indirect taxes and the Mexico income tax provision.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities |
- Manage and oversee all tax compliance activities, including tax returns, payments, and audits. Experience with favorable VAT refunds is desirable.
- Ensure compliance with Mexican tax regulations and laws, particularly with IMMEX and Foreign Trade Zone (recinto fiscalizado estrategico) regulations.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
- Provide guidance and support on tax-related issues to other departments.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company.
- Coordinate with external advisors and authorities on tax-related matters.
- Prepare and present tax reports to senior management.
- Assist in tax planning for business projects and transactions.
- Manage withholding tax programs for the entity
- Prepare and recommend quarterly estimated Mexico tax payments taking into account seasonality exceptions and cash flow requirements.
- Participate in Mexico income tax provision process calculating the quarterly actual and annual estimated tax liability, investigating material items and differences from each quarter including determining Mexico tax effects of international transactions, cash repatriations, inter-company transactions, acquisitions/dispositions, and reorganizations.

- Interact closely with accounting groups to ensure accurate data for both compliance efforts and tax provision calculations.
- Prepare and maintain documentation concerning internal controls related to the federal income tax provision and other material federal domestic tax processes that impact the financial statements.
- Lead special projects to improve data gathering, validation and reconciliation of material items affecting the company’s current and deferred taxable income positions.
- Manage the exam phase of any Mexico income tax audit and assist outside counsel and the Vice President of Tax in any matters beyond the exam phase of an audit.
- Assist Vice President of Tax with special projects as necessary.
- Personally coach, train and mentor direct reports and provide career development opportunities though training, and quality management activities.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within department.
- Address all employee performance problems promptly and directly in accordance with Company personnel policies.

Qualifications |
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification (CPA, CTA, etc.) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management, with a focus on Mexican tax regulations.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position is a hybrid position.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- C.P.A. (Certified Public Accountant) preferred
Languages and Communication Skills
- Must be able to read, write and speak English and Spanish fluently.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees and vendors.
Computer Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications including RIA Insource compliance software.
- Proficiency in JD Edwards or similar ERP platform
- Proficiency in OneStream or similar consolidations application
Other Skills/Experience
- Significant experience in financial accounting including familiarity calculating deferred income taxes.
- Knowledgeable of regulatory reporting requirements.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and with professionalism, meeting deadlines in a timely manner.
- Uncompromised integrity.
- Experienced in directing and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, metrics, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated success in leading, supervising, managing and developing individuals and high performance teams.
- Skilled in developing and using collaborative relationships to accomplish work goals, and developing individual relationships by listening, sharing ideas, and appreciating others’ efforts.
- Ability to plan, organize and oversee the management of multiple projects and set priorities.
