Junior Business Controller – Contract Logistics | Apprenticeship
Your Role
Are you analytical, curious and eager to understand how financial performance connects with day-to-day logistics operations? Do you enjoy working with data, collaborating with different teams and turning numbers into useful business insights?
If so, you could be the right person to join our Finance Team as a Junior Business Controller – Contract Logistics through an apprenticeship program.
In this role, you will support the Business Controlling team in monitoring the financial and operational performance of our Contract Logistics activities.
Working closely with Finance and Operations, you will develop a solid understanding of management control processes, business performance, cost drivers and profitability, contributing to reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities.
This opportunity is designed for someone at the beginning of their career who wants to build strong foundations in Business Controlling within an international logistics environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Support the analysis of financial and operational performance across Contract Logistics activities.
- Assist in monitoring revenues, costs, margins and key business performance indicators.
- Contribute to monthly management reporting activities, analysing actual results against budget, forecast and previous periods.
- Support the preparation of periodic reports and performance analyses for Business Controlling and management.
- Assist the team during budgeting and forecasting processes, collecting and analysing financial and operational data.
- Monitor financial and operational KPIs, supporting the identification of key trends and performance variances.
- Help analyse the main operational cost drivers, including volumes, productivity, labour and warehousing costs.
- Support profitability analyses by customer, contract or operational site.
- Work with Operations and Finance teams to ensure consistency between operational information and financial data.
- Support reconciliation activities between accounting data and management reporting.
- Contribute to the preparation of dashboards, presentations and business performance reviews.
- Participate in the development and improvement of controlling tools, reports and data analysis processes.
- Support ad hoc financial analyses and business cases according to business needs.
Who We Are Looking For
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Management Engineering or a related field.
Recent graduates or candidates with limited professional experience are welcome to apply.
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of Management Control, financial analysis, accounting or corporate finance.
- Good knowledge of Excel and confidence working with numbers and datasets.
- Interest in business performance analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
- Interest in logistics, supply chain and operational business environments.
- Knowledge of Power BI, ERP systems or other data analysis tools is considered an advantage.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
