YOUR ROLE

As a Warehouse Operative at our Treforest site, Cardiff you will be part of a successful team who are committed to supporting a VIP customer. This is a critical role within the operation, and directly contributes towards the efficiency and effectiveness of the team and operation.

 

The shifts for this role are Monday - Friday 08.00 -16:30 one week and Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17.00 the week after alternating each week. Hours per week are 37.5 and the pay rate is £24,848.00 per annum. 


WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Ensure all materials are stored safely and in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Receive, check, record, store and dispatch goods accurately, ensuring all stock is correctly labelled and located.
  • Maintain full compliance with company policies, legal requirements and ISO standards, with particular focus on aviation security, Customs Warehouse compliance, site security and Health & Safety.
  • Support the achievement of customer and internal KPIs by completing warehouse activities accurately and efficiently.
  • Identify, record and report any service failures, damage, discrepancies or incidents, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
  • Support the Warehouse Supervisor with the day-to-day running of the operation and act as Key Holder in their absence where required.
  • Build strong working relationships with the customer, acting as a key point of contact alongside the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and warehouse presentation.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by the Warehouse Supervisor or Management team.

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Previous warehouse experience, ideally within a logistics, freight or distribution environment.
  • Reach and Counterbalance FLT licences are desirable, but full training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • A strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures and the importance of working safely at all times.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail when handling stock, documentation and system transactions.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a busy team.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly.
  • Basic IT skills and experience using warehouse management systems or handheld scanners would be an advantage.
  • A flexible approach to supporting the wider operation and undertaking a variety of warehouse duties.
  • Previous experience working within a Customs Warehouse, aviation or other regulated environment would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
