Mission
Define and implement, together with the different operational units, the H&S strategy in Portugal.
Provide efficient and professional partnership support to the business units, being recognized as a strategic and support partner.
Manage Occupational Safety, Hygiene and Health activities, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, CEVA Group global standards, Iberian requirements and the ISO 45001 reference standard.
Monitor the application of legislation and standards in matters of Occupational Safety, Hygiene and Health (SHST) with a view to preventing and reducing the risk of occupational accidents and diseases and improving working conditions.
Ensure SHST reporting.

Main Responsibilities

Main focus and accountability areas of the role – list in order of importance the main areas of responsibility.
The main responsibilities are, among others:

  1. MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL OF THE HEALTH AND SAFETY SYSTEM
  • Implementation of the H&S strategy
  • Definition of the annual activity plan
  • Definition of best practices for managing the activity
  • Support to operational units in H&S matters
  • Participation in activities related to ISO 45001 certification
  • Deliver internal H&S training and awareness sessions
  • Perform occupational risk assessments
  • Monitoring and application of H&S legislation
  • Conduct accident and incident analyses
  • Preparation of contingency plans
  • Management of the drill/simulation plan
  • Preparation of safety plans
  • Definition and management of PPE
  • Preparation of legal and internal H&S reports for the organization
  • Management of subcontracting related to H&S
  • Representation of the company before the relevant bodies in matters of prevention and safety (occupational health services, Labour Authority, National Civil Protection Authority, Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services, etc.)
  • Definition of actions to be implemented to ensure the effective implementation of projects defined by the Group in the areas of prevention and safety
  • Supervision and control of compliance with safety requirements when work is carried out by external companies.
  1. PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
  • Definition and monitoring of activity-related KPIs that allow conclusions to be drawn and deviations to be identified
  • Setting objectives to ensure compliance with the defined Prevention and Safety Policy
  • Evaluation of the results of H&S actions
  1. AUDITS
  • Participation in external H&S audits
  • Follow-up of external H&S inspections
  • Support in root cause diagnosis and definition of action plans for Non-Conformities identified during audits
  1. SAFETY
  • Is an active player in their own safety and the safety of others, and therefore complies with applicable hygiene and safety rules, and must raise the alarm in the event of detecting any risk situation. Applies and ensures the application of all Group guidelines relating to safety and well-being at work within their scope of responsibility.
  1. ENVIRONMENT
  • Respects natural resources by controlling their consumption and complies with applicable environmental legal requirements.
  1. QUALITY
  • Complies with the requirements defined in the Management Systems implemented and applicable to their scope.
