YOUR ROLE
Our operation in Shannon is looking for a Freight Coordinator to join the team where you will take responsibility for ensuring the smooth and efficient daily running of imports & exports.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Manage import and export shipments from collection through to final delivery, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently
- Organise and coordinate shipment collections and deliveries, monitoring progress throughout the shipment lifecycle and ensuring all key milestones are updated accurately and on time.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments, local and overseas offices, airlines, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth shipment operations.
- Monitor shipments closely, identify potential delays or operational issues, and escalate any problems to the relevant Supervisor or Manager in a timely manner.
- Prepare and manage all required shipping and customs documentation, ensuring paperwork is accurate and complete before being submitted to customs brokers.
- Liaise with customs brokerage teams to support customs clearance, including preparing and providing the necessary documentation and commercial invoices for customs declarations.
- Ensure all relevant systems are accurately and promptly updated with shipment information and milestone events and shipments are billed and invoiced accurately and within required timescales.
- Ensure full compliance with Irish Revenue regulations, government requirements, and IATA security standards.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate will have previous experience in air freight operations, ideally within a freight forwarding environment. You will have a good understanding of air freight terminology and documentation, including AWBs, MAWBs and customs documentation. Strong IT skills are essential, with experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel. Strong time management, organisational skills and excellent communication skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. You should be confident working independently as well as part of a team and have a professional, customer-focused approach with an excellent telephone manner.
