YOUR ROLE
At CEVA Logistics, we are looking for a driven Business Development Manager for our Event Logistics operations in the Netherlands. In this role, you will drive business growth by acquiring new projects and expanding existing activities with event organizers, exhibitors, and global partners. You will advise customers on the best logistics solutions and ensure that CEVA Logistics becomes their trusted partner. From cold acquisition to closing contracts, you are responsible for the entire process and ensure profitable growth!
As a Business Development Manager, you are responsible for attracting new customers and expanding your client portfolio. You maintain strong relationships with both prospective and existing clients. CEVA Logistics is the official logistics partner for more than 120 events each year. Through thorough research and close collaboration with internal and external partners, you work toward securing new business wins. You will focus on generating business at trade shows, exhibitions, fairs, and sporting events in the Netherlands, as well as supporting Dutch companies participating in one of these 120 international events.
In addition, as a Business Development Manager, you are responsible for:
- Ensuring our service levels and quality of service delivery;
- Connecting customers and colleagues across the organization;
- Preparing reports;
- Proactively communicating RFQs with management and stakeholders within the organization;
- Close collaboration with the Sales Support team to obtain accurate information regarding rates and quotations.
WHERE WILL YOU WORK?
As a Business Development Manager, you will be part of an international Business Development team of 10 colleagues. Your base will be our office in Utrecht, where around ten colleagues work in various roles within Event Logistics. You will report to the Sales Director Event Logistics, who is based in the United Kingdom.
In this role, you will regularly work across different time zones, and workloads may vary around major events. Therefore, you will have a high degree of responsibility and flexibility in organizing your own schedule, working hours, and work location, including the option to work from home. In addition, you will frequently travel to visit (potential) clients or attend events.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager who is comfortable working independently. You are self-motivated to identify opportunities, and with your perseverance you proactively seize opportunities and successfully bring sales processes to completion. You communicate clearly and convincingly, know how to set priorities, and remain calm when facing risks or time pressure. Thanks to your product knowledge and your ability to make decisions independently, you turn every sales process into a success. Within a large international organization, you quickly find your way: you show initiative, take responsibility, and don’t wait for things to happen, you act.
In addition to these competencies, you bring the following:
- Bachelor’s level working and thinking ability (HBO), preferably with a completed degree in a commercial and/or logistics-related field;
- At least 3 years of experience in a commercial role within the event logistics industry;
- Excellent command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
