Role Overview:
In this role, you will be providing commercial support to the Asia Regional Commercial team on a part-time basis for a 6-month engagement.
The role will support both Maritime and Value-Added Services (VAS) activities, with a flexible scope depending on business needs. The role will primarily focus on administrative coordination, operational follow-up, troubleshooting and ensuring that outstanding issues are properly tracked and resolved or escalated.
The role will work closely with internal stakeholders across Commercial, Operations, Agencies and VAS teams to support the smooth execution of day-to-day activities.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Support
- Provide day-to-day administrative and coordination support to the Regional Commercial (APAC) team.
- Maintain and update trackers, logs, reports and dashboards relating to commercial and operational activities.
- Support documentation, reporting and preparation of internal materials.
- Follow up on outstanding actions and ensure agreed timelines are monitored and tracked.
- Organise and maintain relevant records and supporting documentation.
Operational Troubleshooting & Follow-Up
- Support the investigation and follow-up of operational issues raised by the Commercial team.
- Troubleshoot and coordinate resolution of issues across both Maritime and VAS, depending on business priorities.
- Liaise with relevant internal teams to identify the status of an issue, clarify requirements and drive follow-up actions.
- Monitor open issues through to resolution and ensure appropriate updates are provided to the relevant stakeholders.
- Escalate complex or unresolved matters to the appropriate internal stakeholder in a timely manner.
Cross-Functional Support
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Operations, Agencies, Product, Pricing and other relevant teams to resolve outstanding matters.
- Support ad hoc requests and projects assigned by the Regional Commercial Manager.
What We’re Looking For:
- Prior experience in administration, operations support, logistics, shipping, supply chain or a similar coordination role is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong follow-up skills with the ability to track outstanding matters through to completion.
- Comfortable working across different areas and adapting to changing priorities.
- Good problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach to resolving issues.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, particularly for internal coordination and follow-up.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision after initial onboarding.
