WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Business Ownership: The primary role of a Customs Compliance Expert is to ensure that all exports and imports customs regulations and laws are adhered. This involves reviewing of Customs procedures established by worldwide Customs offices and facilitate it’s implementation to reduce the risk of non-compliance, penalties and to maintain CMA CGM’s reputation with customs authorities.
- Study and Development: Collaborating with network stakeholders, agencies to identify upcoming Customs regulations to manage it in projectized manner. This involves to study, analyze and understand the Customs Regulations and Laws. In co-ordination with IT dept develop internal system like LARA, EDI, EZEE BL, Ecommerce to gather the required shipment details from the customers and to be able to transmit it to Customs in timely manner.
- Training and Deployment: Prepare, co-ordinate for the training material, FAQ file for agencies & GBS to explain the Customs rules and filing procedure and importance of compliance. Prepare SOP for the agencies and GBS for the LARA screen usage and filing steps to be followed. Co-ordinate with Business Rules Manager to update Country procedures, Rules & Restrictions, iControl rules. Prepare and articulate Customer Advisories and GEN Instructions to inform the network and customers about the new Customs regulations, development into existing regulations.
- Rule Integration, Monitoring, Reporting and Improvement: Regularly review filing compliance is followed and need of any changes into system, technology. Communicate clear & simplified guidelines to the global network to ensure effective implementation of Customs rules. Track the performance, generate reports for key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing rule execution data, and identify areas of improvement to enhance the Customs filing procedure.
- Training and contingency: Involve in re-current training and educating stakeholders on Customs rules and procedures, facilitating rule-related discussions and workshops. Work closely with the key internal stakeholders to develop and implement timely solutions to handle contingency situations during crisis.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- 4-8 years of experience in transportation & Logistics industry – working customer care (Documentation, Customer Service, legal), exposure to working and implementing policies.
- Experience with large and matrix organization would be ideal
- Ability to engage a large diversity of stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to hear everyone’s opinions.
- Creative and process oriented.
- Analytical mindset and ability to leverage data to drive decision-making and process improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across different levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage and work with multi-cultural team across geographies.
