THE ROLE 

Artificial Intelligence is becoming a core transformation lever for the Group. To accelerate its impact, we are building a network of strong AI capabilities within our key regions, closely connected to both local businesses and the Group AI function.
We are looking for a Regional AI Transformation Lead for Africa, based in the region, who will act as the local AI reference and bridge between the business, the regional ecosystem and the Group AI teams.
The role combines AI strategy, ecosystem intelligence and hands-on transformation with one objective: identify what matters locally and turn AI opportunities into tangible business impact.
The position will report hierarchically to the Regional General Manager and functionally to the Group VP AI.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

1. AI Market Intelligence & Ecosystem
Be our eyes and ears on the ground.
•    Monitor local AI, technology and innovation trends with potential impact on our businesses.
•    Identify high-potential AI players, research initiatives and emerging solutions across Africa.
•    Build relationships with the most relevant players in the local AI ecosystem.
•    Identify emerging technologies and market movements that should be brought to the attention of the AI Group division.
•    In Collaboration with Zebox team, connect selected players with the Group AI teams and relevant business units and contribute to local AI events, ecosystem engagement and learning expeditions.

2. Regional AI Strategy & Adoption
Bring the Group AI strategy to life in the region.
•    Act as the local AI reference point for the region.
•    Translate the Group AI strategy and roadmap into regional priorities.
•    Identify specific local business needs and opportunities where our group AI tooling can generate value.
•    Support the regional deployment and adoption of Group AI products and platforms, including Maia.
•    Connect regional teams with Group AI expertise, products and capabilities.
•    Build and animate a network of AI Champions across countries and businesses.
•    Help drive adoption, upskilling and change around AI solutions.

3. AI Use Cases & Transformation
Turn opportunities into measurable business outcomes.
• Identify and qualify high-impact AI use cases specific to the African market.
• Work directly with business leaders and operational teams to understand their challenges and translate them into AI opportunities.
• Lead selected local AI projects from opportunity framing through implementation.
• Connect local use cases with Group capabilities to reuse and scale rather than reinvent.
• Coordinate with Group AI teams and relevant functions to accelerate execution.
• Ensure that successful regional initiatives can be shared and potentially scaled across the Group.

• Strong understanding of the AI ecosystem, technologies and emerging trends.
• Ability to understand business problems and translate them into pragmatic AI initiatives.
• Strong strategy and problem-solving skills, with a highly applied and execution-oriented mindset.
• Experience driving digital, AI, innovation or technology-enabled transformation.
• Comfortable interacting with startups, technology companies, business executives and operational teams.
• Strong project leadership skills and ability to move from an idea to implementation.
• Ability to navigate a matrix organisation and connect regional priorities with global capabilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Entrepreneurial, curious, pragmatic and hands-on.
Entrepreneurial/startup, strategy consulting, corporate innovation, venture/tech ecosystem or AI transformation backgrounds would all be highly relevant.

The Regional AI Lead operates as part of the regional leadership ecosystem while being strongly connected to the Group AI organisation, ensuring alignment with Group priorities, access to central capabilities and continuous sharing between the region and headquarters.
